Why do Christians talk so much about the blood of Christ? To some people, the topic seems strange, even gory. But to those who hold to the truth of Scripture, the blood of Christ is precious, as the Apostle Peter described it. The blood is the reason we can be forgiven of our sins and receive eternal life. Even at the end of the age, the blood of Christ will still be the key to life and salvation. In the Book of Revelation, Christ is described as the sacrificial Lamb whose blood purchased people for God. Those who had faced “the accuser of the brethren” are said to have overcome “by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.” And the uncountable multitude that stands spotless before God consists of those who have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. In the following articles, see why the blood of Christ is so precious that Christians around the world sing, “There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel’s veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.”
