Under draft guidelines set to come into effect in 2019, children as young as 5 in Scotland’s public schools will be told, “Your gender is what you decide.”
Christian parents are outraged, and some experts have warned that the policy will only confuse children, especially such young ones. “For most kids, this isn’t a concern at this age,” one child psychologist told The Scotsmannewspaper. “Playing with toys and who sits beside them at lunch is what they care about. At ages 5 to 8, things are black and white. Many don’t have the cognitive skills to understand this.”
