Only the postal address has changed, and the new one is as simple as the old. For years, my father urged TV and radio listeners to write simply to Billy Graham, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Now you can write to us at 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, North Carolina.
We’ve been in the process of building and moving for a couple of years. It’s been a time of growth, excitement, challenges, prayer and trusting in the Lord.
The Bible says, “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it” (Psalm 127:1, NKJV). We have sought His direction each step of the way.
Like a church moving into a new sanctuary, our new facilities won’t change who we are, but they are designed to help BGEA to do the work of world evangelism more effectively. We’ve brought many of our ministries under one roof: Crusades, TV, radio, film, Internet, publications, training, Christian guidance and international ministries.
In just a few months we hope to break ground for the Billy Graham Library, next to our new headquarters. This will feature my father’s childhood home and a library uniquely designed to look like the family barn. Several hundred thousand visitors are expected each year. The library will be an ongoing “Crusade”–each visitor will be personally challenged with the Good News of Jesus Christ and will be invited to place their faith in Him.
In 1950 when BGEA was chartered in Minneapolis, my father’s friend George Wilson wrote our statement of purpose: “To spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ by any and all means.” That has never changed, and it never will.
In that sense, we haven’t moved. As the Bible says, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58, NKJV).
