In recent months, some areas have seen slight decreases in overdose deaths as an opiate antidote called NARCAN® (naloxone hydrochloride) has become more readily available to save lives of people who have overdosed on opioids.
The antidote, by all accounts, is remarkable. When administered soon enough after an overdose, it can bring back an unresponsive person who likely would die otherwise.
“The problem,” says Walter Santos, “is that when they come back home, they’ve got the same addiction problem. They go right back out and start it all over again. The only cure is the Lord Jesus. I try to explain that to the secular people and tell them, ‘Hey, there is a cure, and I’m living proof of that. God can change you from the inside out.’”
