Hosted by Alex McFarland, president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, the conference features noted apologists and speakers including William Lane Craig, Os Guinness, Charles Colson and others. Will Graham, the final speaker on the first night of the conference, will invite those in attendance to put their faith in Jesus Christ.
“Every year, the highlight of the event is to see several hundred people, after hearing the evidence for Christianity, right there on the spot put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,” McFarland said.
The conference, with its theme “Apologetics and the Local Church,” is designed to help churches strengthen their evangelism and discipleship, and also help them integrate apologetics into their ministry. Among the many speakers and workshop leaders, Chad Miller, director of BGEA’s Dare to Be a Daniel project, will lead a session on helping tweens and youth to share their faith; and Mike Beresford, who works with training of churches for BGEA, will lead a session on the topic “Is Your Personal Life a Defense of the Gospel?”
During the conference, Southern Evangelical Seminary will host a debate between Christian author Dinesh D’Souza and atheist Christopher Hitchens. d:
